Dana White looked a little uneasy squaring off Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley ahead of their bantamweight title fight.
‘The Funk Master’ will put his 135lb belt on the line against O’Malley in the main event of UFC 292 at Boston’s TD Garden on Saturday night.
Two days prior, they came face-to-face for a promotional press conference.
After exchanging jibes for 20 minutes, White squared off his headliners and it appeared they were not done insulting each other as their conversation continued to flow.
They initially posed in a boxing stance before Sterling took off his sunglasses and decided to excite the crowd by going nose-to-nose with his latest challenger.
The UFC president kept his left hand on Sterling’s chest as he exchanged words with O’Malley who responded by raising his fists to show the weapons he’ll use this weekend.
At that point, White was so concerned about their heated confrontation turning violent that he stepped in and pushed Sterling away from the situation with both hands.
Another member of the UFC team guided O’Malley away but it wasn’t long until both men returned to the centre of the stage to pose for cameras and rile up the fans.
Eventually, the two huge bantamweights left to continue preparing to make 135lbs at Friday’s weigh-in.
White just seemed relieved the UFC 292 press conference was over, and that’s likely got something to do with the first time Sterling and O’Malley faced off.
